Wolverhampton half marathon 2013

Neil BoothSt.George’s own Mo Farah, Neil Booth, successfully ran the Carver’s Wolverhampton Half Marathon on Sunday the 1st September 2013.  Flying the St.George’s HUB and showing admirable grit and determination Neil finished a highly creditable 624th.  All at St. George’s are  proud of Neil for his efforts and we hope many more will follow in his footsteps next year.  Well done Neil.

The greenhouse effect

the greenhouse effect

Its not the rain forest it is inside St.George’s new greenhouse.  There is a veritable array of foliage and produce that would make Kew Gardens green with envy.  Congratulations to all who have worked so hard from construction to harvest.

The guitar men

The HUB’S New Wednesday guitar group sprang into life this week and automatically showed that age is no barrier in learning something new.
The group runs from 10.30-12.30 every Wednesday with our volunteer Silas,  so come along and you could be the new Noel Gallagher!

St. George’s and Head for Health at Black Country Awards

Our Resettlement Worker Neil Booth recently attended the Black Country Sports and Physical Activity Awards. St.George’s in partnership with the Wolves Community Trust offers the ‘Head for Health scheme that promotes mental wellbeing through physical Activity. Though the scheme   did not win an award both the Community Trust and ourselves were delighted to take part. The beautiful game remains a great form of exercise.
